Sturminster Newton Signal Box
SKU: 23008
The Sturminster Newton Signal box was a S&D “Type 1” design and became operational in 1876. After 90 years of service, the box was decommissioned in 1966 and subsequently demolished. Originally, the signal box was fitted with a 12-lever frame, however was later updated to use a 16-lever frame, as featured on our model.
The former site of the signal box is now a car park, which leads on to the North Dorset Trailway, running alongside/ along the former Somerset and Dorset line.
This signal box would make an interesting addition to any model collection, and can be provided with customised station name stickers.
